Any Delta airlines flight that comes and goes to Honolulu out of Seattle-Tacoma international airport comes through the S gates most of the time. When that happens to me, I end up having to have my meal options here before departure - wherever I'm going.
Kinda funny how I am filing a review now for this place after many flights to and from Seattle-Tacoma international airport. I would get my meals here at the Runway Grill and usually get the burger combo or the fish sandwich burger combo, which usually come with French fries and a soft drink of choice. There are a few dining choices here at the S Gates, so best bet is to either be comfortable in the choices you have here or take the train to the main terminal, if you have the time before departure to do so. My layovers at Seattle Tacoma international airport are usually brief, not more than 4 hours at a time, so that works out to a quick meal and a place to recharge my phone before boarding the next flight out of there. Runway Grill is basically your McDonalds type of fast food port at the airport, but with way less options to fill your belly. The prices here aren't terribly expensive, but you probably can get a better value outside the airport, depending where you decide on cuisine and budgetary concerns. For me though, a burger is a burger, as long it tastes reasonably good and it keeps me sane on a long travel day. Runway Grill is pretty cool for what it serves to the traveling public, but I should probably check out that other restaurant in S Gates one of these days.
The overall experience here at the Runway Grill - Seattle-Tacoma International airport was as fast food as you can be. Waiting in line and ordering, while others are waiting for their orders. It's a dog eat dog world sometimes and in this rat race, individualism often takes a back seat to corporate culture and what the greater good tends to be. For me, it was an okay opportunity to get food here before departing on a jet plane to where I need to go. Runway Grill is located at the S Gates at the Seattle Tacoma international airport. Can't miss it since you're need to get here if your departing flight is here. There's a few other options for dining, but this is quick fast food at around $7-$10 for the combos. The only ways you can get here is by flying on a plane to get here or leaving Seattle to go somewhere - pretty much, unless you work at the airport or are TSA and / or airline crew. They accept major credit cards, which is always a good thing, especially for us travelers who rely on the plastic lifestyle. They accept cash too, well. The airport has parking garages and such, but if you are in here, that means that you're probably traveling in or out of Seattle for a reason or another. Runway Grill is past TSA security, so if you wanted to partake in this shindig.
For the most part though, the ambiance was as most like a food court. Correction: it is like a food court, but not much options when it came to the food scene. It's in an airport scenery obviously, but there's a place where you can sit and eat your stuff. Or your can find a charging station near the gates and have lunch or dinner while charging up your mobile devices. I would say that this place is average, not much to say about that, but the food is okay and probably better budget wise than the restaurant across the way. At least there's some air conditioning for the most part and the free airport WiFi was a godsend to many, but for me, just having good and delicious sustenance makes me happy when I'm traveling here, there, and everywhere in between. I usually have the fish burger or the regular burger, due to the fact that it is cheap - relatively speaking. Airport food is always pricey to begin with, but $7 combos for burgers is a decent deal with a reasonable markup. The service was quick and fast, even it can be friendly, but you can't tell when you're moving quickly by the speed of life. Still relatively good and okay though. The burgers and the accompanying fries was good and I usually get a Diet Coke from here to compete the meal. Healthy? Not ideal, but you can get other things elsewhere that can be construed as being so. I usually am on vacation here, so it was okay to come here when the convenience allows me to do so without being too lazy about it. I'd recommend coming here if you don't want to dine in the S Gates seafood looking restaurant and want something quick and easy before your flight out of Seattle. Might surprise you. It did with me, but still average.
3.5 stars for the overall experience. 4.0 stars for the food. 3.5 stars for the ambiance, but hey, traveling and flying is pretty awesome!

The food is ok for airport food. I ordered the fish sandwich and chili cheese fries. They tasted fine. The fries prices are reasonable but the burger is a bit overpriced. Lots of tartar sauce making it a bit soggy and messy to eat. But if you're in S concourse and if you don't want to break the bank for a quick meal I would stop over here. The Asian place next door is not good. Udon is gross and way over priced. And the seafood place is so experience.

To say that there are limited food options in the S terminal is an understatement. There is a burger place, a coffee shop, and a place for Asian inspired food in the food court. The only real restaurant is a seafood house with poor reviews.
Given the options, I got a burger from the Runway Grill. As expected, it was not good. The beef was unseasoned and the bread broke with the first bite. The fries were clumped together and they were clearly from a frozen bag. The worst part about this meal was that I spent over $20 on a terrible burger, chicken sandwich, two orders of fries, and two drinks.
Skip this place and eat in the main terminal before you come over to S. "Run Away" from this grill. -

Oh no you dont! This place is very sketchy. I knew it! I wanted something quick but I didn't say from the dumpster. How could you serve people something like this and charge the way you do? No no no!
Tough love but step up if you don't want to see anymore bad reviews. Location location location! Also stands for class and good quality. You better ask somebody. -

Food was ok for something quick before getting on a plane... it's fast and easy. I hope I don't regret it later...
